ADHRIT'S POV.......
Next day came faster than I thought. I don't when I slept thinking of her.
I woke up early in the morning. Although I woke early everyday but today, in my excitement, I woke up at 4 a.m. sharp. Or else like any other day, I would have snoozed my alarm and woke up at 5 a.m.
It's early you know. I don't know about you but for me.....it is early and for my siblings, it is way toooooooooo early.
The first thing I did after waking up is brushing my teeth and freshening up.
After that I put my track suit on and went for jogging. Where as always I met my parents and chachu and chachi already.
Mom and chachi are doing yoga.
Dad and chachu, well......they are staring at their respectful wives.
I shooked my head and went towards them. I stood behind both of them and said," Don't stare at women like that, I will file a case against you for eye raping my girlfriends".
They turned their head towards me slowly and said in unison," Who is your girlfriend? She is my wife".
I smirked and said," Want to know who?"
They narrowed their eyes at me and I called in a loud voice," Good morning sweetiessss!!!!" With extra sweetness dripping my mouth.
They both opened their eyes and replied with a cheeky smile," Hello my baby!"
I smiled at them and raised an eyebrow smugly infront of my dad and chachu," Now you know?"
Chachu replied," beta ab toh tujhe teri wali mil gayi hai, ab toh hamari biwion ka peecha chhod de"
I just shrugged and jogged in other direction. Not before hearing," Kaun kahega isse k ye vahi cold, arrogent, rude king hai Rajasthan ka?"
After almost 1 hour of jogging and yoga, I came back to my room. I went to bathroom and took a shower.
I stepped out with a towel wrapped around my......you know......waist.
What were you thinking dirty mind.....
Now the most difficult part. Choosing an outfit for today.
What should I wear?
Tshirt? no....too casual
Suit?....naah.....too formal
Kurta?.....no.....too traditional.
I was rejecting every outfit, when I heard maa," Beta kuch mat pehen. Stay naked." She laughed and not only her, my siblings too joined her.
I felt embarassed. My ears turned red from embarassment.
And then Anantika entered," Bhai? ye kya halat bana li aapne apne room ki? Ladki ho kya?"
They had covered their mouth with their hands to control laugh.
I passed a tight lipped smile," hahaha......too funny!"
And then the saviour came, chachi.
She entered and shooed everyone," kya hai? kyu mere laal ko aur laal kar rahe ho? jao bhaago yahan se! shoo! shoo!"
Everyone left my room not before passing a teasing smile.
Now only Chachi was there only with me. Chachi came forward and said," Stressed about clothes?"
I just nodded with a shy smile. She came forward and gave me a kurta set," wear this.. It will look good and she will like it too".
I took that set and ran towards my bathroom.
AUTHORS POV...
On the other side, the excitement of Prabhnoor Kaur knows no limit. She didn't slept all night thinking about today.
What will she wear?
How would she behave?
Will he like her?
These were the only thoughts going on in her mind. She woke up at 6 am and started to pick an outfit for today. If she would have known, she would hae brought her favourite suit. Now she just have casuals not for a meeting especially him.
She was being too much nervous, more than she was nervous during her entrance exam result. Why? Still no answer.
After lot of considerations, she decided to wear a white anarkali with small jhumkas and watch on left hand and a kada on right hand. She tied her hair in a simple braid.
She wore a simple punjabi jutti she bought from her first trip to Amritsar, worn only 2 times.
She applied a cream and transparent lip gloss.
At last she took her bag and went outside as her cab arrived just in time.
She came out of the resort and went towards her cab.
She sat in the cab and driver started the cab. After about 45 minutes of drive, the cab stopped infront of The Royal Palace. She got out of the cab and went towards the gate.
As she was about to enter, the guards stopped her.
She nodded with a smile and said," Miss Devanshi invited me over breakfast today. My name is Prabhnoor Kaur Khaira".
The guard nodded and said with a polite tone," Wait a minute miss. Let me confirm first".
He quickly made a call.
On the other side. All of the family members were seated in living room, waiting for Prabhnoor to arrive. Devanshi forgot to take her phone number and everyone especially Adhrit was glaring her and she just shrugged. After being irritated she said," Agar itni hi khujli ho rahi thi toh khud hi le lete number. Mujhe kya ghoor rahe ho? Ulta aapko mera thank you karna chahiye, maine unhe invite toh kiya. aapke jaise nahi sunn banke waha khade rahe."
Adhrit turned his gaze to the door. After 5 minutes, the security head came with mobile in his hand and bowed infront of them and asked," Hukum sa bahar ek chhori aayi hai, keh rahi hai, Devanshi bai sa ne breakfast pe bulaya hai. Aur Prabhnoor Kaur Khaira naam bata rahi hai."
Before Adhrit could answer, Hridyansh spoke up," Balraj ji, unhe na roke, woh Rajasthan ki hone wali Rani sa hain. Kyu bhai sa?"
Adhrit's ears turned red and he turned his head in opposite direction and said to the security chief," unhe izzat se andar bhejiye".
He just nodded and went outside. Although he didn't said anything, the security head understood his command.
He quickly dialled the guard at the door again and asked him to send her in.
The guard ended the call and bowed infront of her and said," Jaiye bai sa".
As she was entering inside every guard on duty were bowing his head infront of her.
She was confused of this gesture.
They bow for everyone who enters? She thought.
She stopped infront of the door of the mansion. She has to walk atleast a kilometer to get here. She was admiring the beautiful garden on her both sides and a fountain right infront of the mansion's door. The mansion was no less than a palace. By the way it is really is palace.
She got in and saw everyone sitting in the living room. As soon as she enters, her eyes fell on Adhrit Pratap Singh sitting in the center of the sofa. On his left side, seated were the elders and on right, the youngers.
She bowed her head a little, and joined her hands and spoke in a low tone barely hearable but due to pin drop silence everyone heard it. They all stood up in once and got near her. Except Adhrit. He was still seated on the sofa. Staring at her. He glanced at her and then himself.
Coincidentally, they both were matching. He wore a white kurta given by his chachi and she was wearing a anarkali.
He was feeling soooooo happpppy inside and bit the inside of the cheek to stop smiling.
His trance was broken by Devanshi as she hugged her," Hello didi! good to see you".
She just smiled and returned the hug.
Devanshi then spoke," Let me introduce everyone."
She first pointed towards her grandfather and said," So he is the great king Pratap Singh. Our grandfather."
Prabhnoor joined her hands and went to touch his feet when he backed and said," hamare yahan betiyan pair nahi chhooti. Gale milti hain".
She just nodded and said," ji"
He took her in a warm hug and said," call me dadaji only".
She smiled and said," ji dada ji"
Then Devanshi pointed towards her parents and said," They are former king and queen and my parents Mr. Rajveer Pratap Singh and Mrs. Rajnandini Devi".
She bowed her head and joined hands and said," khamma ghani uncle".
He nodded and passed a polite and genuine smile. Meanwhile Rajnandini Devi came forward and hugged her.
She also reciprocated the hug.
Then Devanshi pointed towards her chachu and chachi," And they are my chachu and chachi, Mr. Mahendra Pratap Singh and Mrs. Yashodhara Pratap Singh".
She again joined her hands and said," Khamma ghani uncle and aunty".
Unlike his brother Mahendra Pratap Singh camr forward and rested his hand on her head and said," Ghani khamma beta"
And Yashodhara hugged her.
Devanshi then turned towards the younger clad and before she could say something, Veer came forward and said," We will introduce ourselves."
Veer stepped forward and said," I am Veer Pratap Singh, Twin brother of Devanshi and younger brother of Adhrit bhai sa."
They both did a quick handshake and exchanged smiles.
Then Shivansh came forward and said," Hi I am Shivansh Pratap Singh, cousin of Devanshi."
They again did a handshake and passed smiles.
Then Hridyansh and Anantika came forward and Anantika spoke," I am Anantika Pratap Singh, cousin of Devanshi and younger sister of Shivansh and he is Hridyansh Pratap Singh, my elder brother."
She nodded and passed a smile with a handshake, which they both reciprocated.
Now there was silence.........
And came Adhrit, he came forward and said," You know me, I am Adhrit Pratap Singh."
She nodded but didn't get her hand to shake because she was..........hell nervous. So he took the initiative and took his hand out for a shake. She just looked at his hand. He was about to take it back when she shaked.
Everyone went to dining room.
Prabhnoor liked everyone, their nature was not even near to which she has heard, rude, cold, distant, arrogant and god knows whatever. They all were warm and welcoming.
Everyone took their seat and only Adhrit and Prabhnoor were left. Devanshi deliberately took the seat near Anantika leaving the seat beside Adhrit.
Adhrit took his usual seat and she was just standing. Rajnandini noticed and said with a warm tone," beta sit".
She just nodded and sat beside him. The usual dining table was eerily quiet as no one was speaking anything. Then Devanshi spoke," Bhai aaj kya ho gaya sabko, itne shant kyu hain."
But no one replied. Prabhnoor for the first time she entered felt out of place suddenly. She thought it's because of her. She nervously bit her lower lip and fidgeted her fingers with her dupatta.
Adhrit noticed and fake coughed to get everyone's attention.
Everyone's head slowly turned to him except Prabhnoor.
He looked at everyone first and then turned his gaze towards the nervous figure sitting between them. They all nodded as if understood his silence.
Breaking the silence Shivansh spoke," Vaise baba aap kal apna soundproof wala button on karna bhool gaye the kya?"
Mahendra's brows furrowed as he asked," Kyu beta?"
Shivansh blurted without thinking," woh kal raat aapki aur maa ki aawaaz poore ghar mein goonj rahi thi, atleast thoda rehem karte meri maa par, aap itne besharam ho pata nahi tha."
Prabhnoor who was drinking water choked on it and spilled it out on Adhrit's side but not on him. And coughed very badly.
Adhrit immediately started patting her back.
Meanwhile, Yashodhara ji's face turned red like a tomato.
Adhrit offered water to Prabhnoor, and she took a sip," Thank you".
Adhrit just nodded and turned to the dining table.
Mahendra ji turned his gaze to Shivansh and said," beta agar itna besharam nahi hota na, toh tu aaj yaha nahi hota, samjha?"
Everyone laughed at his comment and Yashodhara slapped his shoulder lightly.
Rajnandini ji served malai kofta to her and said," this is my signature dish, you know, everyone in the family loves malai kofta only by my hands. See if you also likes it."
She nodded and took a bite and immediately closed her eyes. She opened her eyes and said," this is soo tasty aunty. I loved it."
" i am glad you loved it." She replied happily.
" Beta, this Shahi paneer is made by me, have it, and don't hesitate, feel it your home only." Yashodhara said while passing the bowl to her.
She took it and placed some of it in her plate.
After breakfast, servants got kheer as a desert.
They served kheer to everyone. They started having it. Everyone were enjoying when Rajnandini ji notices Prabhnoor eyeing the kheer as she finished it a second ago. She was clearly hesitating to ask more.
Rajnandini ji served her more kheer and said," We mean it when we said to feel home."
Prabhnoor smiled and nodded," Thank you aunty".
'So you are a doctor?" Rajveer ji asked, while eating kheer.
Prabhnoor put the bowl on table and replied while fidgeting her fingers," ji uncle, actually parson se meri internship shuru ho rahi hai. Toh iske baad speciality karungi."
Rajveer ji nodded.
Yasodhara ji asked curiously," so which speciality are you thinking to chose?"
Prabhnoor thought for a second before replying," ji aunty abhi maine socha nahi, actually mujhe samajh nahi aa raha but according to my scores, my professors adviced me to chose radiology. But I am just considering it for now."
Adhrit was stealing glances at her from time to time. He was noticing her way of talking, answering, her fidgeting, her nervousness.
Anantika spoke before anyone else could," so bha......I mean di, aapki flight 4 baje hai na?"
Prabhnoor nodded not catching the slip of her tongue meanwhile all of the family members were glaring at her.
She continued," So how about you spend the time with us and we will drop you at the airport too."
Prabhnoor hesitated," but...."
Before she could complete, Devanshi chimmed in with her excited voice," oh yes! and we all will enjoy, we don't know after today when will we meet you".
Prabhnoor hesitated for a minute when she nodded with a smile.
Anantika turned to Adhrit and asked," bhai aap bhi aaoge na?"
But before Adhrit could reply, Hridyansh spoke," Bhai has an important meeting today." He said it casually but his teasing remark was not gone unnoticed by Adhrit and others except the one.
He literally glared at him and replied in a low tone," I will join you guys, the meeting was postponed by them."
Hridyansh wasn't one to back down and said," but bhai aren't they going back to Italy tomorrow?"
He replied with a strict tone," haa, but they asked for a video conference and by the way you also have to complete that singhania's file by tomorrow right? We have meeting with them tomorrow. You didn't forget right?"
Hridyansh's smug expression altered slightly," but the meeting was in next week. wasn't it?
Adhrit replied as in casual," but it was preponed".
Hridyansh was about to say something when he got a message from Adhrit.
Agar abhi ke abhi tu chup nahi hua toh soch lena tera kya hoga.
He gulped at the sight of his brother's expression. And Devanshi and Anantika were enjoying it.
After a while, everyone came out of dining room and settled into living room.
The elders took seat in the center of the sofas and Prabhnoor seated beside them. Meanwhile the youngsters went to change for their sort trip.
But there was one man who didn't went to change instead he was standing behind a pillar and was staring at her.
She felt a gaze on herself and when she looked around, she found him staring at her without blinking. She just buried her face in her neck and blushed. Her cheeks became red from the impact.
After a while, Hridyansh, Shivansh, Veer, Anantika and Devanshi came and went towards the door of the car.
Prabhnoor also stood up and hugged everyone present their, first Pratap ji, then Rajnandini ji and rajveer ji and lastly Mahendra ji and yashodhara ji.
She parted and said," jab bhi Rajasthan aao, toh zaroor milke jaana"
Prabhnoor replied with a nod," ji jaroor".
After that, the youngsters went out.
