He stepped inside the resort with his calm and cold expressions on his face. He wore a black three piece suit with the royal badge on his left side of the coat. He walked inside with full confidence. He looked around and found his family standing in a corner. His parents and uncle-aunt were standing and talking in a corner.
He went his parents and touched the feet of four of them. His mother said, haaye! mera baccha kisiki nazar na lage. Bahut handsome lag rahe ho".
He just smiled at her. His chachi spoke," oye, you are looking very hot and handsome" she winked and passed a flying kiss to him. He quickly gestured to catch the kiss and touch his hand to the left side near his heart.
However this exchange didn't get unnoticed by his uncle who narrowed his eyes at him and pulled his wife toward him and said," oye! ye ashiqui karni hai toh apni biwi la. Meri biwi pe kyun line maar raha hai?"
Adhrit sighed at his uncle's childishness and said with a smirk," woh aapki wali zyada sundar hai. Aur rahi baat meri biwi ki toh woh toh aapko nahi dikhne wali. Saari umar aapki biwi se chipka rahunga. Aur aapki biwi bhi roz roz ek hi shakal dekh k bore ho gayi hongi. Akhirkaar budhe jo ho rahe ho aap".
His aunt said," yeh toh tumne sahi bola, buddhe toh ho rahe hain ye.''
His uncle glanced at his wife and said in low tone in his ears," Accha ji! main buddha ho gaya hoon? Raat ko dikhaunga is buddhe ki taakat."
He smirked seeing the red face of his wife.
Meanwhile Adhrit and his parents shooked their heads with a smile. After meeting them, he went to Divanshi who stood near cold drink corner with her brother and cousins. He went near them and Divanshi flashed an energetic smile to her brother and said," Bhaiya aap aa gaye! Thank god!". Adhrit just nodded and hugged all of them and with concerned face asked Divanshi," Tu theek hai na?"
She assured him and said," yes bhaiya, am all right. Aapko pata hai Prabhnoor di ne use time pe pakad liya, warna mujhe toh kuch pata hi nahi chalta." At the mention of someone unknown, usually he just ignores it, but now, on the mention of Prabhnoor, his heart skipped a beat.
He suddenly want to meet her and in that thought, he glanced the reception hall. Devanshi noticed and said," Bhaiya, she is not here for reception". He frowned and before he could stop himself, he blurted out," Kyu?"
Devanshi smirked and said," she is on a solo trip and staying here for a while." He nodded, although he wanted to ask more. He himself didn't know, why he is being so curious. He wanted to meet her.
Devanshi was looking enjoying the part when a familiar figure near the entrance caught her eyes. There standing and waiting for the lift was Prabhnoor, fully engrossed in her phone. She turned her gaze to Adhrit and asked," Do you want to meet her?'' He immediatly said," no, not at all. Who said?" But his body betrayed him as his head nodded in yes while he declined. Devanshi said with a smile," really bhai? but your face says otherwise. Chalo na!! Meet her for a second only. You will like her." He tried to protest but she dragged him. She stopped at a distance from Prabhnoor and called her," Prabhnoor di, helloooooo". She flinched slightly when suddenly someone called her name and that too loudly.
She turned around and saw Devanshi who was coming towards her accompanied by a man. She smiled at her and waved her hand. Devanshi came near her and said," hello di! I want you to meet someone." Then she turned towards her brother and introduced him," Here, he is my brother, Adhrit Pratap Singh."
Prabhnoor nodded her head and gestured her hand out for a handshake. He took her hand and did a handshake. She said," Nice to meet you Mr. Singh". She tried to get her hand out of his hand but he was not letting go.
Devanshi noticed and mentally slapped her forehead and thought, aur inko milna nahi tha.She nudged him with her elbow and whispered," bhai, hath chhodo unka." He came into senses and let her hand go with a whispered sorry.
He was about to say something when they heard a commotion going in the recepetion area. They turned their heads to the direction and saw an elderly guest lying on the floor.
Prabhnoor ran towards her.
A boy reached that woman with a glass of water, but before he could give some water to her, Prabhnoor abruptly stopped him. She ran towards her and crouched beside her. She first checked her breathing. And there was a very low breath almost none. She immediately took her hand and checked her pulse, only to find it weak too.
She started CPR. She checked her pulse again and found it stable. After a while an ambulance came and she provided all information to the medical personnel and they took that woman to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Adhrit was looking at her with admiration.
She came back to Devanshi, who said in an excited tone," Woah! that was amazing di."
Prabhnoor shooked her head an said," no, it was my responsibility as a doctor."
Devanshi's eyes widened and asked," Are you a doctor?"
She just nodded and said," Ok, I should go now. I have to leave tomorrow".
Devanshi again asked," Are you going back tomorrow? But we just met."
Prabhnoor replied," I am here from past week. Duty calls".
Devanshi nodded and said," But can you come to my house tomorrow for breakfast? please?"
Prabhnoor checked her phone and said," My flight is at 4 pm. So I guess I can come." She replied with a smile and a small nod.
Devanshi smiled widely and hugged her.
Prabhnoor stiffened for a while but she reciprocated after a second.
She thought no one noticed but how wrong she was. There he was, Adhrit, standing near them, noticed everything, their interaction and the way she stiffened. All of it.
ADHRIT'S POV........
When I saw her, I lost in her eyes only. After Devanshi's nudging, I came back to my senses. What was that? Why my heart is beating so fast like I had run a marathon? I don't know what's happenning with me.
I was about to say something when a woman collapsed and without missing a beat she ran towards her. She checked on her and started giving CPR. I just stood there, rooted, not moving at all, my eyes........only on her. I was literally gawking her publicly. Why? I don't know.
After that she talked a little with Devanshi. And they hugged each other. I noticed how she stiffened when Devanshi hugged her suddenly. After that she retreated to her room I think.
I was standing there, looking at her retreating figure. When she went out of my eyes, only then I remebered my surroundings. I turned back only to see the teasing smiles on my family's faces.
Maybe I know why that face. And what I know for sure is, my face would have been all red right now. I turned back and went near them. When I went close to them, Devanshi was the first one to speak," what was that bhai?"
Although I know what she was talking about but still pretending I don't know anything I said," What?"
This time Anantika spoke," bhai, you know very well, what we are talking about".
I continued," What are you guys talking about? How would I know?"
Devanshi said," Accha tell me, what was with that face when you met her. You know, (she looked at all of them and spoke like a gossip) he wouldn't let go her hand until I nudged him. He was so lost in admiring her that he forgot his surroundings." She laughed at last and everyone started giving teasing smiles.
Without my knowing my ears turned a deep shade of red and I said," It's not like that."
Mahendra chachu spoke this time," We know very well how is it like. Beta don't try to fool us. Toh batao, kab leke jaein uske ghar rishta?"
My reply was quick,"chachuuuuu!!!!!!" I whined like a baby.
Maa said raising her one eyebrow," What chachu?"
I replied with a red face," It's not like that"
Before anyone could speak further, chachi said folding her hand as if praying," Thank god, I thought he will bring a son-in-law instead of daughter-in-law, and our kingdom will get two kings".
I looked at her in pure disblief and everyone laughed hard.
I replied," chachi you are impossible".
After a while Devanshi spoke," Actually maa woh kal waapis ja rahi hai."
As soon as the words left her mouth, I stilled, and before I could process, my mouth spoke on his own," Why?"
Devanshi smirked and said, "Woh she was here from last week and tomorrow is her flight. So..."
"So...?" I asked.
" So...............I invited her for breakfast tomorrow at our home." She replied as if it was normal thing.
But........was it?
Because my heart skipped a beat on hearing that she is coming tomorrow at our house.
I can see her tomorrow again. YAYYYY!!!!!!!
Wait, Aren,t I.....too excited?
Leave it, my sole focus should be on tomorrow.
I have to decide my outfit too.
I came back from reception early and went directly to my room. After freshening up I layed on my bed and stared at the ceiling.
Her face is not going away from my eyes.
With that in mind, I don't know when I slept.
PRABHNOOR'S POV.......
I spent my whole day in the library, and it was so peacefull. I really enjoyed in my imaginary world. When I checked time, it was already 7p.m. I quickly gathered my things and went out. I booked a cab and went to my hotel. Today is my last day here. My trip ends tomorrow. From day after tomorrow I have to join hospital again. This trip was so peaceful.
I reached my hotel in about 30 minutes. I got out of the cab and headed towards the elevator. Now, all I want to do is just sleep. I was waiting for the elevator when I heard someone calling my name. I looked at the source and found Devanshi, the girl from the morning. She came to me with a man beside her.
I recognised him immediately. He is the King of Rajasthan, Adhrit Pratap Singh, standing in all his glory.
I can,t deny the fact that he is more handsome in person.
She introduced us and I extended my hand for a handshake. He took my hand in his and.......the world stops, my heart skipped a beat. I don't know what this new feeling is about. Suddenly, the temperature rised to my cheeks by his continous stare.
He was not looking at me, he was looking deep in my soul.
I tried to get my hand back but he didn't let go. But do I want him to leave. Absolutely NO! I didn't want him to leave either.
But he let go after a moment.
He was about to say something, when commotion happened. A woman lying unconcious on the floor. My doctor mode activated and before I realised, I ran towards her. I checked her pulse and found slow pulse. I started CPR. After a while the ambulance came and took her to the hospital.
And all this while, I felt a continous stare at me. I turned and found him. directly staring at my soul with a very very small smile.
And there my heart beat stopped again.
My cheeks started burning.
I was heading towards my room when Devanshi again called me and asked for breakfast. And I agreed. Why? Don't know!
What I know clearly is I want to see him again.
He has an effect on me.
